Lonnie Dean Hartsock, the son of Herman and Lula Jarvis Hartsock, was born on 20 January 1945 in Burlington, Iowa.
Lonnie graduated from Burlington High School in 1964.
While still attending Burlington High School, Lonnie enlisted in the United States Marine Corps Reserve on 4 April 1962. In March 1965, Lonnie left for Vietnam where he was stated at Da Nang Air Base.
Lonnie was a passenger on troop plane when it crashed in the ocean near Hong Kong on 24 August 1965. He was initially report as missing, but his body was later recovered.
Lonnie was survived by his parents; two sisters Joann Brase and Marcia Gustison of Wapello, Iowa; and a brother, Allen.
