Robert Thomas Trevor, son of Richard Henry and Eve (Lemke) Trevor, was born in Davenport on 22 July 1925.

 

Robert attended Saint Ambrose Academy.

 

Robert enlisted in the United States Navy on 21 October 1943, and took his basic training at Great Lakes Naval Station in Chicago, Illinois.  He was then sent Treasure Island near San Francisco, California for additional training.

 

In a War Department telegram, Robert’s family was notified that Robert died of his wounds while in naval action.  They later learned that his status was changed to Missing-In-Action on 8 January 1945.

 

Robert was survived by his parents and two brothers, James John (serving in the United States Army Air Force) and Albert Dale (serving in the Navy).

 

Pharmacist’s Mate 3rd Class Robert Thomas Trevor, United States Navy Reserve, is still official listed as Missing-In-Action.  His name is on the Tablets of the Missing at the Manila American Cemetery in Manila, Philippines. 

 

Among his decorations and awards is the Purple Heart.
